The Western States Water Council and the California Department of Water Resources cosponsored a workshop in a continuing series between western states and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the research community on improving sub-seasonal to seasonal (S2S) precipitation forecasting to support water management decision-making.  The agenda included topics on experimental forecasts of West Coast atmospheric ridging pattern that could provide predictability of extended dry conditions, statistical modeling of seasonal precipitation, and a pilot research project for seasonal forecasting of western mountain snowpack.

The workshop was held in San Diego, California on May 22-24, 2019 at the Doubletree San Diego Downtown.
