On May 13, WSWC joined more than 70 organizations and signed a letter to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the House Committee on Natural Resources, calling on Congress to establish a near-term drought mitigation program with at least $2B in federal funding. Signatories span Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming, and Tribal Nations. The requested funding would support programming that builds on the Bureau of Reclamation’s existing investments to address urgent water supply risks.
