GAO Freshwater Study Webinar
November 10 @ 2:00 pm MST - 3:00 pm MST

The U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) has initiated a study on freshwater availability and use. This session gives state water managers an opportunity to share their perspectives with GAO directly and help inform the study. More details on the scope of this webinar will be posted as they become available.
The preliminary objectives and core topics of the study include:
- State Perspectives & Actions: How the perspectives of states and other stakeholders have changed over the past decade regarding freshwater availability and use, and the steps states have taken to address these issues.
- Tribal Challenges: The challenges faced by Tribes regarding freshwater availability and use on tribal lands. (GAO plans to get both state and tribal perspectives on these challenges.)
- 10-Year Outlook: What state water managers expect for water availability over the next 10 years and how this will impact state water planning.
- Federal Support: Actions taken by the federal government since 2014 regarding freshwater availability and use, and how federal support for state and tribal water management can be enhanced.
