This WestFAST-hosted webinar introduced attendees to: (1) the history of watershed and wildfire management in the Forest Service; (2) subsequent post-burn issues, including impacts to water supplies; and (3) provided examples of current approaches to engage with communities, water utilities, states, tribes, others to respond and improve the landscape, lower wildfire risk, and protect water supplies. The briefing touched on the collaborative processes, new authorities, and mechanisms available across entities.
